Cotopaxi National Park is home to Ecuador’s most captivatingly photogenic volcano. Towering at 5897 meters the giant Cotopaxi peak boasts a perfectly symmetrical snow-capped cone, and picturesque surrounding parkland. We take you to trek up to Cotopaxi refuge, to enjoy panoramic views from the snowline (on clear days). We will Visit the Cotopaxi National Park Museum to learn about the destructive history of the volcano and stop for photos and a short walk at pretty Limpiopungo Lake.

We will pick  you up from your hotel at 8:00am. Afterwards we departure heading Cotopaxi Province, we will take the highway to Latacunga  after we reach Machachi we start to see some of the mountains that form the Volcano Avenue so we can enjoy some views to the volcanos: Ruminahui, Illinizas, Chimborazo, Los Altares, Tungurahua.

This one-day Cotopaxi Tour, allows you to witness this colossus, which is covered by layers of snow and ice, and is known for its perfectly symmetrical cone. This imposing giant is often the backdrop for the landscapes of the central highlands and possesses a history of dramatic eruptions, which are reasons why many people visit this mountain

In about 1:00 hr we get the Cotopaxi National. We continue driving to the Cotopaxi Museum where we learn about eruptions, flora & fauna. After this we continue to Limpiopungo Lake we walk a bit, take some pics and continue to the parking place at 4500 mt. From here we hike up to 4800 mt where is the Jose Rivas Refuge.

Here we rested a moment, have something warm and we could hike up to 5000mt the beginning of the glacier. After spending a bit here we hike down and we return.!

We will stop for lunch and we will get back to Quito.
