Day 1

“Long Run” Rafting Toachi & Blanco Rivers (Class III – III+)

Embark on an unforgettable rafting adventure in Ecuador on the Toachi and Blanco Rivers, renowned for offering some of the longest and most exhilarating whitewater rapids in the country. Flowing from the Andes Mountains towards the coast, these rivers provide the perfect mix of thrilling rapids and breathtaking tropical scenery. As you navigate through lush rainforests, you’ll be immersed in the sights and sounds of nature, making this an unforgettable experience.

Your day kicks off with a hotel pickup in Quito or a meet-up at our designated Meeting Point. From there, we embark on a scenic 3-hour drive through Ecuador’s stunning cloud forests to reach the riverbanks.

Before launching into the rapids, our expert guides will equip you with high-quality safety gear, including helmets and life jackets, followed by a comprehensive safety briefing and paddling training to ensure an exciting yet safe ride.

Once on the water, prepare for a perfect balance of adrenaline-pumping whitewater action and tranquil moments drifting through untouched Amazonian rainforest. While you’re guaranteed to get wet, you’ll also have the unique opportunity to observe exotic wildlife up close from our raft—a moving eco-viewing platform that takes you deep into nature. Total rafting time: approximately 3.5 hours.

Midway through the journey, we’ll pause for a delicious riverside picnic, featuring fresh tropical fruits, soft drinks, juice, and water. After completing this epic whitewater rafting tour, we’ll head to Chuquiragua Lodge (or similar accommodation), where you can relax and prepare for your next Ecuadorian adventure.

Accommodation in Chuquiragua Lodge or similar.  Meals Included: Lunch (L), Dinner (D)

Day 2

Hiking Adventure to Quilotoa Lagoon – Explore Ecuador’s Andean Gem

Discover the breathtaking Quilotoa Lagoon, a stunning emerald-green crater lake nestled in the Ecuadorian Andes. Located 66 kilometers south of Latacunga, Quilotoa is the westernmost volcano in Ecuador, formed over 800 years ago by a massive volcanic eruption. Today, this water-filled caldera is one of the most spectacular hiking destinations in Ecuador, offering panoramic views of the Andean highlands and an unforgettable cultural experience.

After enjoying a delicious breakfast, we’ll depart from our lodge and take the scenic Pan-American Highway south, embarking on one of the most incredible trips in Ecuador. Our adventure begins with a visit to an authentic indigenous market—either the Saquisilí Market (Thursdays) or the Pujilí Market (Sundays)—where you can experience the rich traditions and craftsmanship of local Andean communities.

From there, we’ll continue towards Quilotoa Lagoon, located at an altitude of approximately 3,800 meters (12,467 ft). Along the way, we’ll pass through the breathtaking Zumbahua Canyon, picturesque indigenous villages, and Andean farmlands, offering a glimpse into one of Ecuador’s most authentic and culturally rich regions.

Upon arrival, you’ll be captivated by the breathtaking turquoise waters of Quilotoa Crater Lake, surrounded by dramatic cliffs and high-altitude landscapes. Our expert guide will share fascinating insights about this volcanic formation and the traditions of the communities living nearby.

Important Tip: The weather in Quilotoa can be unpredictable, so we recommend bringing warm, waterproof clothing to stay comfortable during your adventure.

Before lunch, we’ll visit a traditional indigenous home, offering a unique opportunity to interact with local Kichwa families and learn about their way of life. This enriching experience provides a deeper understanding of Ecuador’s indigenous heritage and traditions.

After an unforgettable day of hiking and cultural exploration, we’ll return to our lodge (Chuquiragua Lodge or similar) to enjoy a well-deserved dinner and rest for the next exciting adventure.

Meals Included: Breakfast (B), Lunch (L), Dinner (D)

Day 3

Cotopaxi Volcano Adventure: Trekking & Mountain Biking in Ecuador

Embark on an unforgettable hiking and mountain biking tour in the Cotopaxi National Park, home to one of the world’s highest active volcanoes. Standing at 5,897 meters (19,347 ft), Cotopaxi Volcano is a must-visit destination for adventure seekers exploring Ecuador. Located just 50 km south of Quito, this iconic stratovolcano offers breathtaking landscapes, diverse wildlife, and thrilling outdoor activities.

After enjoying a hearty breakfast, we’ll depart from Quito and head toward Cotopaxi National Park, Ecuador’s second-largest protected area and one of the top tourist attractions after the Galápagos Islands.

Upon arrival, we’ll explore the park’s unique paramo ecosystem, where you’ll see pumice, volcanic ash, and rock formations shaped by past eruptions. Along the way, keep an eye out for Andean wildlife, including hawks, wild rabbits, weasels, and the majestic Andean condor, Ecuador’s national symbol.

Our adventure continues with a high-altitude trek, driving up to 4,500 meters (14,764 ft) before hiking up a sandy volcanic slope to reach the Cotopaxi Glacier at 5,000 meters (16,400 ft). As you ascend, you’ll witness breathtaking views of the surrounding Andean peaks and the vast volcanic landscape.

After the hike, we’ll return to the parking area, where you’ll gear up for an adrenaline-pumping downhill bike ride. Cycling from 4,500 meters to the scenic Limpiopungo Lagoon, you’ll experience one of the best mountain biking routes in Ecuador, surrounded by stunning landscapes and fresh mountain air.

After an action-packed day, we’ll enjoy a delicious Ecuadorian lunch before packing up and heading back to Quito.
