The Upper Rio Napo is also known locally as the Rio Jatunyacu, which means “BIG WATER” in Quichua. “Big” is probably the best word to describe this river – BIG WAVES and BIG FUN! A great trip for both beginners and experts alike, it has the perfect combination of exciting rapids, calm pools, and fabulous jungle scenery to delight everybody. Being the headwaters of one of the two rivers that form the mighty Amazon River, this is a rafting adventure that should not be passed up!

Amazon Jungle Rafting Adventure – Full-Day Tour from Tena

Your rafting journey starts at 9:00 AM at our office in Tena, Ecuador. After a short 10-minute drive, we cross the Napo River, a major tributary of the Amazon, and continue 30 minutes deeper into the jungle. Upon arrival at the river, our expert trip leader will provide:

A comprehensive safety briefing
High-quality rafting gear – life jackets and helmets
Team assignments and personalized guidance from your expert guide

Your guide will train you in essential paddling techniques and ensure your belongings, such as sunscreen and a small camera, are safely stowed.

Midway through the trip, we’ll stop at a beautiful riverside beach for a delicious picnic lunch, featuring: Fresh tropical fruits, soft drinks, juice, and water

As we reach the take-out point, we wrap up the day with a well-earned ice-cold beer or soda to toast an unforgettable adventure.

The return drive to Tena takes just 10 minutes, with an estimated arrival time of 3:00 PM (timing may vary depending on river conditions).
